Not sure if anyone has tried this. I have several MP6001 units that are running less than 20K per month. All of them complained of light copies within 20 - 30K, starting from new installation. I finally tried a full PM of the PCU and Dev assemblies, including new developer. I restarted each unit with the cover open, then entered SP mode. Prior to initializing the new developer, the following SP settings were reset to the default values -
SP2001-001, -002, -003, -004,
2201-001, -002, -003, -004, -005,
2208-001,
2209-001,
2220-001,
2906-001, -002.
To make sure the MFP is fully ready for initializing, I then run SMC report 5990-005. Once this has printed, I run
SP2801 (TD Sensor Initial Setting), followed by
SP2962 (Automatic Adjustment of Drum Conditions). Since these machines are low coverage / low volume, I adjusted the following settings as listed -
2209-001 = 650,
2940-001 = 5,
2210-001 = 1,
2506-002 = 1. After 3 months the first machine this was done to has remained stable (the others are six weeks into their post-procedure runs, also without incident). Hopefully this procedure proves helpful.
